What Bivvy Can't Help With

We're a telehealth service, not a replacement for in-person care. There are certain situations where a provider in the room — or an emergency room — is genuinely what you need. We'll always be upfront about this during your visit.

Bivvy Health is not insurance and does not cover procedures, hospitalizations, specialist visits, imaging, or lab work. We're best understood as a direct line to licensed providers for the care that doesn't require you to physically be somewhere.

  • Surgeries or surgical consultations
  • Emergency and trauma care
  • Imaging (X-rays, MRIs, CT scans)
  • Lab work and blood draws
  • Physical exams requiring hands-on assessment
  • Controlled substance prescriptions (except where legally allowed)
  • Specialist care (cardiology, oncology, neurology, etc.)
  • Inpatient hospital care
  • Dental care
  • Vision care and eye exams
  • Vaccinations and immunizations
  • Workers' compensation evaluations

When to Go to the ER — Not Bivvy

Some situations genuinely need emergency care. If you're experiencing any of the following, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately. Do not wait for a telehealth visit.

Common Questions About Coverage

Yes. Licensed providers on our platform can prescribe medication for appropriate conditions and send prescriptions directly to your preferred pharmacy. This includes common antibiotics, antifungals, allergy medications, and many other treatments. Controlled substances follow separate regulations and may not be available via telehealth in all states.

With the Family plan, yes — your plan covers up to 4 dependents, including children. Each covered member gets full access to all telehealth services including pediatric consultations. The Individual plan covers only you.

Bivvy Health is available across the United States through our telehealth network powered by DrCare247. Provider availability may vary slightly by state due to licensing requirements. Our platform will always connect you with a licensed provider in your state.

If a Bivvy provider determines that your situation requires in-person care — for example, an X-ray, lab work, or a physical exam — they'll let you know and provide guidance on next steps. The visit itself is still covered, and you won't be charged extra. We'd rather get you the right care than pretend telehealth is the answer to everything.

Yes. Bivvy Health includes access to behavioral health services where available, including anxiety, depression, stress management, and sleep difficulties. Availability of specific mental health services may vary by provider and state. For ongoing therapy or psychiatry, we may refer you to a specialist who can provide longer-term support.
